This may sound stupid, but do you have a popup blocker enabled?  All of these functions pop up a window for settings...

No problem joanie. We just need a little more information to help out.

It sounds like you have a pop-up blocker enabled. If you are using IE 6 or IE7 then there should be a yellow bar at the top of the browser window when you hear that little bloop.
If there is you can click it and then select 'Always allow pop-ups from this web site".

If you have the google or yahoo pop-up blocker installed you will have to go into the options for those and add your website to the list of trusted sites.

That was it!!! Thanks a bunch! I didnt even put it together that these were all popup windows. Tx!

That fixed the popup issue, but I'm getting the same error as is being discussed in the discussion below with regard to inserting images. I'll go there to see if I can solve this one.

A critical error has occurred.
String cannot be of zero length. Parameter name: oldValue

DNN version 4.5.1 has the problem fixed. You should download it and give it a try.
