Hello guys,

I do not understand why the custom editor options are not saved for my portal's FCKEditor.

What it strange is that I defined a specific toolbar for a a role but beside the fact that it was taken into account :

- this option change is not showing up in the custom options once I reopen the section "Show custom editor options for this instance"

- I may not undo this change (as it does not figure in the options, but is taken into account).

Regards,
Fabian

Where in DNN that you see the option to setup toobar access by role?  I reviewed posts in this forum and went to FCKeditor site but I can not find referenc where to do this.  Thanks.

Hello workcontrol,

you find this by clicking on the checkbox beneath the editor called "Show custom editor options for this instance".

Fabian

Ok I'm an idiot...... I can not find the checkbox under the editor called "Show custom editor options for this instance."  I have logged in as both admin and host and it doesn't appear.  To be clear I am using the Text/HTML module.  I would like to limit the ability of people to link to files/pages (it shows all the pages, all the folders/files and paths "portal/#/folder/folder" to people...?!?!?!) on the site as well as insert photos (linked to root....not good).  What's "worse" is that this the editor is used for the forums module so....... if you allow these two things people can see most of your site files/folders.  We can't have this on our production site.  Our other option is to change editors......... any suggestions? Am I an idiot!?!? Am I the only one who sees this as a flaw?

When you are editing text, there is a link under the main editor window.
Look here.

To set the options for your forum module there are a few steps to do.
1. Enter your forums and start a new thread.
2. Create a new post, that way the editor opens.
3. You can now click the link to show the editor options.
4. Select the radio button settings type to module.
5. Select which toolbar set to use based on your forum users role.
6. Click the apply link at the bottom of the screen to save the settings for the module.

You can cancel the new post you created.
