Boskone and Tim

It is already possible. You only have to:

1) Create a toolbar without those options in the fckconfig.js

2) Use the custom option dialog to assign roles to each toolbar you have

For point #2 you can try and see what I am talking about by setting Default and DNNDefault toolbars to only admins and the NOGallery toolbar to all users

I is really easy and you can do it at portal leven, module level and instance level.

That is true and I have been able to do that but a couple of examples:

-A forum, if you wish to allow images to be posted in the topic via a url but do not want the user the ability to browse the server or upload images.
-If you do allow images to be browsed from the server but don't want the user to be able to add a link or access the advanced tab of the image dialog.
-A custom module that allows registered users to enter content, images and links but you don't want them to access the link browser.

I think that by being able to set these role options offers that much more flexibility to your already great provider.
And great work BTW.

The first item is already solved for you. Avery folder at DNN can be secured inside the fie manager, so only roles you want will be able to see files or upload

I will be changing the way roles are used inside the custom options. I want all options to be assigned by roles, but this new feature will come after all bugs are fixed within current releases

Thanks locopon.

I realize that you can change upload permissions with the file manager, buy why even show the upload tab of the dialog if the user has no permission to upload. They tend to believe that they can upload only to get an error message at the end of there efforts stating 'You do not have permission'

I think it is better not to show the tab to begin with.

I agree with you, that's why I am creating the new options based on roles instead the actual toolbar based on roles.

The new options will include an option to specify a custom fckconfig.js per role group, sou you will have granular control over fck features.

Now, you will have to wait until the stabilization release is out, then I will finish the new feature set
