I have DNN 4.3.5, provider 1.0.0.6 and FCKEditor 2.3.1.

The first time I make a link to a file on the site (e.g. through Text/HTML module) it works. However, if the text is saved a second time, the link URL gets changed and it no longer works. An ASP.NET error occurs:

Server Error in '/' Application.

Input string was not in a correct format.

An example of a working link:

.... and this is how it gets changed:

Is there anything I can do to fix this now? Its a big problem for my site administrators because they often accidentally cause an update of the text just by clicking on it (due to the new feature of the Text/HTML module to edit within the page).

Also, is this an issue with the provider or the editor? Can you fix it in the next release?

I have tested it 10 times on one server, with different files, and the problem happens every time. I have now tested it again on a different server and I am not getting the problem at all. This server is also DNN 4.3.5 with FCK 2.3.1 and provider 1.00.06.

Please test to see if you find a problem. Also, what could explain the fileticket parameter being changed on my first server?

We're getting the same kind of error, only it happens as soon as you save. We're running DNN 3.3.4  (upgraded from 3.2) and FckHTMLEditorProvider version 1.0.6.43163 (from the .dll)

The first link is the the link created in the editor, the second is the link as shown on the resulting page:

http://testmachine/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=78GyJETugbc%3d&tabid=141
http://testmachine/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=78GyJETugbc=&tabid=141

As a side note - when I paste the correct link into my browser, I do get access to the page, but the browser wants to download it rather than display it in place.  I don't think this is a problem with the editor module though, I think this has more to do with the LinkClick code and how it serves up MIME types.

I verified that this is happening. But the url is not being modified...why?... because FCKeditor is only replacing the %XX code with the real character. You can learn about that codification here:

http://www.w3schools.com/tags/ref_urlencode.asp

I made a lot of tests and the link is still working fine, and the linkclick routine is getting the correct file ticket. Maybe it need some extra work on testing , but the first impression is that no problem is created by this behavior.

I will post this behavior under the FCKforum at source forge to see if anyone could explain if this is a normal behavior for links with special characters.

About your side note: This is the way that linkclick routines (DNN Core) manage files. I know that there are people still reviewing the download wrapper routine to handle content-type much better.

Can you please confirm me that both links are working fine?
