Hi Cathal,

Do you think you might elaborate on these methods just a little in a slightly different context?  We'd like to store additional information (fields in the in the database) for each page (or HTML module on the page, if necessary), like author, purpose, associated materials, etc.  Is there a way to add fields to the basic page and/or module data collection?  I'm not worried about the re-display, since we'll be doing that in another module.

If we can do this using an extension or some built-in capability of DNN, that would be ideal.

Thanks,

-dqj

you can store settings in a number of different locations (e.g. for settings particular to a module on a page then the ModuleController updatetabmodulesettings/gettabmodulesettings would be the normal place), but obviously you need the code to know to read and utilise these settings. In your own code this is trivial, the user was asking for an example of ways to apply changes without having making changes to the core code.

Thanks for the tips!  I was kind of hoping it might be a bit like the User Profile though, where you can add profile data elements using existing core functionality.
