ahh woops! I've just gone and read your first post again to see if it really related and I realised that I hadn't actually clicked through to one of the docs since I first set it up. I should have been more thorough.. it was late and I was already snoring.

So now I've gone and clicked on a doc.. and whilst it does properly load the PDF into acrobat Reader, it also shows a blank page in the browser. The URL it returns for the blank page is identical to the link for the PDF:
......./LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=FrTiAQ0yBqM%3d&tabid=66&mid=450

It's obviously trying to display the URL that returns the file when it should just let the file load into it's application and leave the page where it was.

This is definitely new and undesirable behaviour... poo!

Has this been added to Gemini?

FYI:  The version of the documents module you need to be working with is 3.1.5.  The version referenced above was a beta release that had bugs.  If you could let me know where you got it from, I'd appreciate it, it should be removed.

The problems with PDFs are well known, but were reported to have been fixed with the DNN (core) 4.3.5 release (the function that downloads the file is part of the core).  If anyone is still having problems after installing DNN 4.3.5, please let us know.

I've just had a problem with the same module.. the docs all vanished unless I was logged in. Setting view permissions for unauthenticated users for the folder where the items where stored seems to fix it.

I run the 3.3.5 upgrade package on my live 3.2.2 site. Installed the Documents 3.1.5  module. The documents did not show for unauthenticated users. I fixed this the same way robax did. Is this how it should be? The downloading of *.pdf's then worked correct with IE 6.x but FF 1.5x couldn't read any file type so I had to append it my self.

Hope this help.

I'm on a clean install of 4.3.5 and the document links do not work at all in either Firfeox or IE7.

The docs (PDFS) are there but the links don't do anything.

Thanks for any help and a wonderful web framework.
