Hellop Anthony,

I do not really understand why, but the problem got solved. Main thing I did I described here :

http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/ForumsDotNetNuke/tabid/795/forumid/107/threadid/74823/scope/posts/Default.aspx

But I am nut sure if it is that.

Anyway, thank you very much for the helpfull support!

Regards,
Fabian

Hello Anthony,

I really do not understand what happend, but the downloads do not work again. I am not sure if I dreamed when I told you that I would work again, but I did not make any changes since then... :(

So I am still at the same point : the download of pdf files does not work, when I hit the download button, the download software immediatly annonces a wrong amount of data do download, which is about 20 kb smaller than the actual size.

Thank you very much for any help if possible.

Regards,
Fabian

I reported this problem here, as it does not concern exclusively the Document module.

Hope that you could continue to advice me there.

Regards,
Fabian

Hello,

After scouring the Forums I found that this is a similar problem with file manager and documents.  I discovered that if you go to Host  ->  Host Settings -> Advanced  Settings - > Performance and Set Compression Setting to NO COMPRESSION and uncheck Use whitespace filter.  then do an update and then restart the application and you should be able to use Images and PDF from documents or file manager.

I am no programmer and no expert as to why it fixes the problem....  It just does.  I do not even know the impact those settings are supposed to do when turned on.......

Good Luck

Paul

I had same issue with other type of documents for download - download will stop few seconds before end and file could not be opened because it is not completed.
I found something on MSDN about httpRuntime and applied it and it resolves this to me.
I set (in web.config - httpRuntime) maxRequestLength="10240" & requestLengthDiskThreshold="10240" but it didn't help.
Files for download were 5.5Mb and almost never completed download no meter what connection was (I tested from 3,5kb/s to 1Mb/s).

Last thing I applied was this: executionTimeout="1500"
(value 1500 is duration in seconds!)
This was full success!
