Is there anyway to set the exclude type for applications?  For some reason it doesn't seem to save any of my exclude changes?

Do you use Oracle?  Then try GoldFish.Net

Get it from CNET Download.com!

Hi,

In \\Config\Compression.config  if you add the following line it should fix your issue.
I just performed a small test and it seems to be working.

    <excludedMimeTypes>
        <mimeType>image/gif</mimeType>
        <mimeType>image/jpeg</mimeType>
        <mimeType>application</mimeType>
        <mimeType>application/pdf</mimeType>
    </excludedMimeTypes>

Do you use Oracle?  Then try GoldFish.Net

Get it from CNET Download.com!

Hi,

I can change the settings in DNN without problems, it all get saved in compression.config. May be your permission on root?

I tried that but it didn't work.  The only way I can get it to work is to remove all the data in the whitespace tag.  The only caveat is that now whenever I attempt to save the host settings on the website it removes the whitespace tag and the whole system crashes.

Instead of removing the data in the whitespace tag (which by the way also crashes my install, only fixable by restoring compression.config in the root folder from backup) uncheck "Use Whitespace Filter" in Performance settings and also turn of compression.   Wonder why there are two Compression.config files?  One in root and one in the /Config folder?

I've tried everything else posted here but only doing these two things fixes the issue.
