I can't see the admin and host menus anymore. Is that a new change on v6 or a bug?

This is by design.  We have some additional enhancements that are coming to the Control Panel so that we can move those menus out of the normal experience.  Those additional changes just didn't make it into CTP 1.

I would like to inquire as to the logic behind removing the Admin and Host menu access from the normal menu and solely into the control panel ribbon bar?

First I will say that I initially attributed the annoyance factor of this move to the simple fact that it is a change from what I have been used to with DNN for years now. So I used it for a week or so before I really concluded that I don't like it.

It would be nice if there were an option as to whether the Admin and Host menus were displayed within the menu provider. They would, of course, always display within the ribbon bar for those with the proper access rights.

While we are on the subject of the ribbon bar, I am seeing the Host menu wrap around to a second level below the rest of the tabs in the ribbon bar. So the Common Tasks, Current Page, and Admin Tabs are displayed across the top of the page and the Host Tab wraps around underneath these. I am viewing this on a 23 inch wide screen in IE 8, so I doubt it is a matter of screen realestate.

The current skin applied is Minimal Extropy Full Index. I have not tested the behavior with any third party skins yet.

This is an inconsistent behavior. I only see it on pages with little or no content added yet. Pages with a great deal of text display correctly.

regarding Ribbon bar issues, I suggest trying Advanced Control Panel from www.oliverhine.com, which provides additional functionality and takes less screen space.

A very minor error in the default.css stylesheet, lines 92-94. Semicolons are needed in the font declarations:

h1, h2{font: #664 normal 20px;}
h3, h4{font: #036 normal 12px;}
h5, h6, dt{font: #036 bold 11px;}

Otherwise, things look great!
