I am still advancing my skills with creating ASP.NET websites.  When I came across DDN, I was thinking to myself, this is going to save me a lot of time.  I am wondering though with DNN can you design SQL Server, MS Access and VB.NET databases  and import them to work through DDN?  That is exactly what I am looking for from DNN.   If so can you do this with the free version and what are the free versions limits with running databases through them?  Thanks.

Halle

The answers to your questions are a big yes.

The Community Edition of DotNetNuke is not limited with respect to the Pro version. the Pro version has some additions on top of CE. The biggest differences, though are related to a paid level of support and indemnification.

You should be quite happy with CE!

DNN is an asp.net based framework - as such it does have the ability to access pretty much any sort of database you can form an connection string to - though im wondering exactly what you are trying to achieve.

Thanks for all of the replies.

Wes Tatters;  I am redoing a website for an international Jewish ministry.   The website that they have now which I designed was only designed for viewing information.  They want to be able to do database operations through their website.   I used to do database management for their as well.   They moved their operations to another state but kept me on a website designer.   They can only do their database work on a stand alone computer.  They want to login and have access to their databases wherever they are via their website.

Creating a website with MS SQL, ASP.NET and all is very easy with DNN but adding your own code ni your own modules is a litle bit harder. I would like some more updated manuals on this area please
