DNN newbie here.. I hope I can explain this correctly..

I'm trying to add a small javascript piece that's just doing simple page tracking, that I've used in many other places on my web sites.. it works fine on the home page of the site using DNN, and I'm doing exactly what Armand suggested above, but when I put it on the product pages, or the generic header for those pages, it makes the page take forever to load, and the tracking site doesn't see the hit

don't know which version of DNN we're using, if that matters for this, because I can't find an "about" screen that tells me the version

thanks in advance for all suggestions!

I got the JavaScript to run in v. 6.00.01 and 6.00.02 by following the instructions.  As soon as I upgraded to v 6.01.00 all JavaScript codes disappeared in the HTML module. Furthermore it appears some of the basic HTML elements is being strip from the HTML module.

thank you, Michael and Armand..

I still do not know how to see which version we are using.. I suspect is isn't even 6.x

yesterday, I put the java code back into one of the product pages, just so I could go to View Source, to see if anything was stripped off.. nothing was stripped off, all of the code was there.. but, to my surprise, the code worked yesterday.. the page loaded quickly, and the tracking site recorded the hit on the page.. so, I put the java code in several other places, and it worked everywhere

I have no idea why it would fail for several days, in several tests, then work flawlessly yesterday.. but I'm not complaining :)

The best way of including any type of script is to place it in the header or the footer of the text/html module. Place txt/html module on the page and in the module settings paste your code in the header or the footer fields. This way you do not have to worry about the editor as it is not being used.
