Hello.

I've looked around for modules that could help translating a site into multiple languages.  I've not had much luck.  There were one or two on Snowcovered.com, but they have been removed.  I've tried using Nuntio, but get errors when trying to install.

Aside from just using the Bing translator for multiple languages, has anyone had any good experience with translation modules?  I've developed the site using Exionyte's Xeon template, if that makes any difference.

Thank you!

Jim,

Help me understand a little more...Are you referring to site localization or just translating content from the modules of the site?

If you're referring to localization I suggest that you watch videos in the "Localization" section of the video library on this site. For example: How to set up multiple languages.

If you're talking about translating actual content, I'm not aware of any modules that do this. Also noteworthy... I've not had a need for that either and have not researched it much.

Hope this helps!

if you are looking for tools providing automated translation (as a base for manually adjusting it) and proof reading, there are a number of extensions for all browsers on the market as well as tools for rich text editors, depending on the one, you are preferring (RadEditor, ckEditor, ...)

Clint, I’ve been tasked with looking into translating a lot of the content of our website (www.zetron.com) from English to multiple languages (using DNN 6.0.1).  I have seen translation modules in the past, but they have been removed or discontinued.  Because of the skin I’m using, none of the language packs that I’ve installed seem to work (very small elements of the site get translated, but content does not).

My fear is that I’m going to need to manually set up some content pages in another language using Bing Translator.  If that’s my only option, I can do it.  I’m just hoping for an easier workaround.

a language is not able to translate content by design. you need to provide a translation for content on yourself, after you started to use a multilingual solution, supporting content localisation.
