How to remove the menu bar right next to the logo on home page, with "Home" "Contact US"...

I have added a DRR menu and I am going to use it in every page and remove the default menu, but the two menus appear to be associated - I went to each page through "Admin" -> "Page Management", unchecked "Included in Menu" in "Common" section, only to find out the corresponding item had disappeared in my DDR menu.

Any suggestion?

you should simply use default menu and delete all pages you don't need. Don't forget to clear recycle bin, if you want to be able to re-use same page names.
Do not add a second menu, unless you modify skin e.g. to show top level menu separated from child levels.

I did this instead of using the default menu. Simply remove the menu control from your skin and put in the new one.
