Mark,

Thanks for the reply and the steps on how to do this. Couple of questions?

1. Where do I find the DNN file for this so I can download it?

2. What version of SQL? Can I use SQL 2005? I have this version and the Management Studio which I know how to use.

3. That would work I think with the .net 4.0 for the DNN, issue I have is my website HTML home page needs to use .net 2 to work correctly.

Anything else I should be aware of before I get started?

Bruce

1. dotnetnuke.codeplex.com
2. DNN 7 requires SQL Server 2008 (Express) or above. SQL Server 2005 is no longer supported by MS, by the way.
3. DNN 7 requires ASP.Net 4 and should be installed in a dedicated Website (no other application inside the same website folder)

Will DNN 7 work with SQL Server 2005? Reason I ask is that I have a license for it and do not have SQL Server 2008. Having issues with SQL Express 2008.

DNN 7 does not support SQL Server 2005, you need SQL Server 2008/2008R2/2012 or 2014, Express (with advanced services, I suggest) or above. Compact Edition is NOT supported. I suggest using latest version for performance reasons (and make sure to set database compatibility level in database properties to max level). Express should be fine for most small and medium sized websites.
