We don't have thousands, but we have quite a few. A lot of sites we create are churches and/or church schools, so they can be larger than average sites, anywhere from 80-150 pages (not including Admin, Host, and other default pages that are created by DNN itself).

Also, undoing a display module on all pages doesn't seem to work. It acts like it is just doing it, but it hangs and never actually removes the module from all pages.

this is a known issue, which should be fixed in DNN 5.6.0 (but I haven't tested it myself yet, I confess)

Cheers from Germany,

It doesn't appear that it is. I've upgraded two different test sites on two different servers, same results.

I've had some issues related to this. When a module appears on all pages, there are related performance issues when the module is updated.

One thing you can do is stop logging module related events (Admin>Event Viewer > Edit Log Settings). Right now, if you update a module, it will log an event for each and every page on your web site.

That will lessen the database/framework load as you make the updates.

Ultimately, there needs to be a better solution from the DNN crew. It shouldn't be as slow as it is. I think they are working on something...

unfortunately, we already have logging disabled for modules so this won't be any help to us.

Glad to know other people are experiencing this as well though. Maybe someone will finally look into it.
