Hi Cathal,

I apologize for the time it has taken me to respond.  I have read the link you provided. (I copied a web.config file from the 6.1.5 install code and replaced my file.)  This did not solve my issues.  It actually made the CSS files never load.  I copied the release.config from 6.1.3 and I am having the same issues.

I have confirmed that I am NOT using compression or whitespace removal.

The issues is more prevalent on FireFox, but occurs on IE 9 also.

This issue is just related to the CSS files.  All the pages will load without CSS when the timeout is achieved.

Any other ideas?

 -Joe

can you please check admin->event viewer and see if any errors are logged, we're aware of 1 edge case in the client dependency framework where it throws an exception when it can't detect a DNS Host address (when the client is not connected to the internet and has a particular network configuration), and im wondering if thats it

No Errors in the log.  The other strange thing is that it works for a little time, then starts having css loading issues.  It is frustrating not being able to re-produce this with any regularity.

Any other ideas?  It is almost too much work to develop right now, because of the time it takes to load pages when this issue starts.

I really appreciate the help, so throw anything at me.   I wonder if it is something to do with the web.config file due to the failure to load any css files when I used the default 6.1.5 version of the file.  I think my web.config is from 4.9 or early 5 versions.

Try installing fiddler and looking at the traces.

ISTM that it's not really a DNN issue.

DNN puts the link entries into the HTML of the page.  Once that gets to the browser DNN is out of the loop. The browser gets to decide if it will make a request back to the server for the CSS file.  If it does make that request it's entirely fielded by IIS - it should not get into DNN code.

Wherever your problem is - I suspect it is outside DNN.

Best wishes,
