Hello All,

I assisted with upgrading a site to 5.6.1 and since we have done the upgrade, some existing pages with HTML module(s) will display an error once the page is viewed unauthenticated.  This happens on newly created pages with only a HTML module as well.

It's a bit strange, because if you leave the HTML module empty and do not add any content the error never shows.  But as soon as you edit and save (even the default "Add Content...") and then log out of the site, the error comes right back.

The really weird thing is that once an admin/host logs into the page and at the very least views a module or page settings screen, then the error will go away for the duration of the authenticated session.   As soon as you log out of the site.  Boom!  There is the error again on the unauthenticated page view.

Nothing in the event log that says HTML module.  Re-installed the 5.6.1 HTML package using repair mode several times.  Still no luck.

Anyone have any ideas what to look for?

-Eric

please check Event Viewer in Admin menu for details of the error and post it here.

Sebastian, quick thank-you for responding to my post.  We have battling this thing for 3 days now.

As for the Event Viewer, like I mentioned above, there isn't anything there that screams HTML module problem; however, we are consistently receiving this one in particular:

AssemblyVersion: 5.6.1

Any nudge would be greatly appreciated.

this is a scheduler item, please check, which job is going to be executed and cause this error. What is exact text of the HTML error displayed?

Sebastian, Like I mentioned in the first posting, there is no event that corresponds to the HTML error.  It was a "Object Reference Not found" type.

However, its a moot point now as we have decided to roll back.  Thanks for jumping in there and offering to help.

-Eric
