Is anyone aware of a module that allows users to personalize quick links (or a menu) quickly and easily without having to copy / paste URLs or similar?

I haven't heard of one - but it sounds like a good idea for a module!

how do you want to add urls w/o copy paste? or should they get an option to have a favorites menu, visible on any page of your website, where they are able to add current page as well?

You could do this in Forms and List

set up a table  with 2 fields "Name" and "Url"  and then modify the xsl from here:

http://www.formandlist.com/Documentat...

You give registered users the option add/edit items and the xsl makes sure they only see the items they added themselves. output like and unordered list at style this in your skin

If you want to have this in a menu you can have some jQuery on page that appends it to your site menu

I think the best user interface would be a button on every page that lets them mark it as a favourite which automatically populates their custom quick links list or menu. Then perhaps a link to a settings page which lets them customise (order, delete etc.) favourites they've made in the past.

Thanks for your thoughts and suggestions.
