As Member Directory module is not listed under the modules sub-forum here I put info about it here.

Polish accented letters as ą, ć, ę, ł, ń, ó, ś, ż, ź are not properly showing in Member Directory which suggests that the UTF-8 compliance is not observed so for example name of Piastów city becomes Piast& 243 ;w.(added spaces here because DNN editor corrects the incorrect spelling

Hope this bug gets fixed for the benefit of DNN international community.

All other modules on my Polish language website look alright as far as this issue is concerned.

 EDIT: DNN is 7.2.2.

please log it as a bug to support.dnnsoftware.com (note: a number of these issues, including issues with json parsing, have been fixed recently, but it's better to log it and have our QA validate). Please provide plenty of detail as the easier a bug is to reproduce the easier it is to assign it to a release

I just checked, German Umlauts show up properly decoded in Displayname of the users.
However, city name "München" is displayed "München" and I assume that same will happen for most of the profile properties.

Cheers from Germany,

Sorry Cathal, I don't have that much time to log that into the support all the more so because I found next bugs in DNN localization services: when a user registers with a user name and display name containing Polish accented letters then the registration message is sent to him/her with errors pertaining to non-compliance with UTF-8. What's more interesting is that the new user registration e-mail message is sent to the Host without such bugs.

I think the software testers at DNN Corp. should have a look at that because the first bug I reported above has been present in my install since DNN 7.1 as far as I can remember and it looks like a system problem.
