Thanks for that info! I agree this is an issue that needs addressing, computers live and die by date/time!

Hmmm ok I look at my timezone.xml and it shows Eastern time as -05:00 which should be right, right? I'm on Pacific time at -8 if I look at the time in Dublin and the time here it is 8 hours different, Dublin is on DST time as we are... What am I missing?

Ok to state the problem again might help. The events listed show the correct time zone EST5DST but when I  export the event to my desktop in PST8DST it adds an hour to the event. If the event starts at 9am EST it should start at 6am PST but its showing starting at 7am.

If you're using the newest Events module betas (3.3.5 or 3.3.7), what the export function does is convert the event time to +0 time...this is what's exported to the desktop.  So, then the Desktop is responsible for converting to DST +0 to your Desktop TimeZone.  If you're using an older version of the module, then it did have some issues...

Maybe this is a personal problem...

I installed the beta Events module (WOW, what an improvement!) and still have the issue of when I export the event it adds an hour. I'll try this on another machine.

I still have this issue, the export events link is adding an hour to the event time. Any ideas how to fix it?
