I have installed 3.3.8 and only Admins can Add Events.  I have had other add events before but now only Admins can see the "Add Event" link.  What am I doing wrong here?

How do I authorize members of the subscriber role to add events to the calendar?

Thanks in advance,

Mike

What I have done, is go to setting for the module. Make sure you have "Edit Module" selected for the "permission" group you want to have the ability to Enter an Event.

For these individuals, they will now have the MODE bar at the top of the page, and they need to select EDIT radio button. This will then all them to Enter an Event.

But by making all registered users have "Edit" permissions on the entire module to allow them to enter an event seems extreme.  Couldn't they then delete or alter other records as well?  Are other alternatives for having users add Events to a public list but not be able to delete or change the control or other users content..  Or am I wrong about the powers given to a user to "Edit" the Event Control?

Thanks in advance for any help on this,

Mike

To have total EDIT control over entries, you have to be logged in as an adminstrator. I just checked again by logging in as just a member. I could add events, but not edit other's entries.

Give it a try, and let me know what you find.

The secret of DNN is Roles (and most other systems, including multi-million dollar SAP implementations).  The Events module DOES NOT allow "Edit Module Users" access to configure the module...only Admins and Moderators have access to this priviledge.
