I need to give Settings access to a non Portal Admin.  I like the new functionality where I can assign Moderator, Category, etc to a non Portal Admin (i.e. to a role of my choice).

However, there are a large number of module settings that I also need to grant to a user.  When I try to give module Edit rights to a user who is non an Admin, the Settings menu option does not show up in the module configuration drop-down.  Is this a bug?  If not, can you tell me where (either inside the code or outside) I can turn this function on?

Thanks!

Hi Doug,

Making someone an editor of the module means they can edit the content, it does not make them a module administrator. This is standard across modules where the settings have been included into the DNN Module Settings dialogue. To give someone access to edit the module settings, you need to make them a Page Editor.

Hope this is clear.

Roger

Gotcha.  Makes sense.  So I guess my next (probably foolish) question would be, is there an easy way to let someone of a particular role have access to just the "Event Settings" part of the settings page?

Sorry, I'm not aware of a way of doing this without a change to the module code.

Cheers
Roger

I'm a relative novice, but know enough to be dangerous.  With the code in hand, would the code change be a major overhaul or something relatively simple?  Do you know what would be involved, and if so where would I go to make the necessary changes?

Thanks!
