I'm guessing you aren't using the latest version of the module. In the version you are using it is 'Edit Module', in layer modules this has been changed to use 'Events Editor'.

Cheers

Like Scott, I am trying to set up where the public (not logged into our website) could submit an event and then we can approve it before it is listed. I thought maybe if we set the moderation up and allow unauthenticated users to be able to edit events that would do the trick. But alas no option to add event appeared.

Is this option possible? Has anyone heard of an events module that will?

In the current version of the Events module, only authenticated (logged in) users can create an event.

I noticed that you can allow Unauthenticated Users the ability to submit an event. Just go to the module settings and under permissions check 'Edit Module' for 'All Users'. Now the add event icon won't show to Unauthenticated Users but you can hard link the add event url which looks something like this (http://localhost/Events/tabid/57/ctl/Edit/mid/425/Default.aspx) somewhere on your page and Unauthenticated Users will be able to click on it and submit an event.

The only problem with doing it this way is that when you approve the event you will also have to change the Owner to a registered users. Otherwise the event is 'Owned by Deleted User' and this will allow any Unauthenticated Users to be able to edit and delete the event when they go to view it.

Obviously this is kind of an annoying work around but it works. Allowing Unauthenticated Users to have the ability to submit an event for approval seems to be a pretty common need in the events module. Can this feature be added to the module in a future update?
