@Lars: If you would have asked me this 2-3 years back (when we really started to rethink the scheduler) I would have said: we will go with the RadScheduler of Telerik. But things have changed, like you mention. It has served it's purpose, but not any more.

We are investigating open source jQuery based schedule/calendar controls. If you have any suggestions (or experience you ard willing to share), they/you are most welcome.

This is probably most sophisticated calendar I've seen, may require license, not 100% sure how to implement this on DNN. If it's relatively inexpensive, I wouldn't mind a quote. If expensive, can we crowd source?

This is 'official?' Twitter bootstrap calendar but no backend.

My requirements:
No registration/payments
Dayview - in addition to what you have now
Works on mobile (perhaps need to switch to a list-type view?) Media queries?

Going fwd, any module that doesn't work great on mobile (tablet or phone) will be obsolete in 1 or 2 yrs?

Re your invenmanager port - are you selling that as an interim solution?

Other than perhaps some skinning or beta testing, I wouldn't be much help. Haven't programmed in 10 yrs.

@John:

The DNNEvents module will/can only use fully open source calendar controls, we really need a back-end (the current code for managing events is very extensive), it should have a responsive design with templating options.

The DNNEvents team has nothing to do with the Invenmanager (which was a very nice commercial events module, but the supplier has vasnished, without leaving the source around). So people using this module are now stuck.

I am one of those stuck with Invenmanager! I can not upgrade from DNN 6 or calendar breaks. Can not upgrade server or calendar breaks.
Really between hard place and hell. None of the other commercial modules do what I need/want.
So waiting to see what you come up with - since you talk about breaking changes. Any timeframe?

In my company we are stuck with one implementation as well. So join the club :-(

I think there is an initiative going on to collect source code (there was an option to buy source code for version 5 or lower). The latest version (6): there was no source code option. I think the group will try to decompile the latest version and recreate the source. A bit illegal mb, but that would be an solution.

WRT Time frame: I have a new version in the works, but still have to solve an issue with teh scheduler control in combination with DNN732 (DNN732 broke the calendar/schedular control). Haven't solved that yet, is a bit complex MS AJAX/JQuery/Telerik postback problem...
