it looks like sth went wrong during the installation of #1. DNN 5.4 enabled the new ribbon by default like in #2 and features of HTML module should all be checked. you should be able to switch the control panel used in host settings and reinstall HTML module (extract from install/module folder of the downloaded DNN install package, but there still is a risk of other issues remaining. If #2 is a blank new install or upgrade, I would consider to restart from scratch / restore the last backup prior to the upgrade and redo.

I got it.

Going to Host->Host Settings -> Advanced Settings->Other Settings.  I was able to select the RibbonBar. Thx.

I reinstalled the HTML module from the install.zip and now I get the textboxes instead of labels in package Settings but that didn't give me the IsPortable,Is Searchable and Is Upgradables checboxes to be checked

Here's the solution to get these checkboxes to become checked;  Simply save the module. That will force DNN to revise the Business Controller Class and find out that these features are available. 

Thanks for your help on this issue.

I had the same problem with "is portable" "is searchable" and "is upgradable" not being checked on a fresh install of version 5.6.2. with my webhoster. Just clicking (Host...Module Definitions...Edit HTML Extension Settings...) Update Module (not having changed anything) solved the problem. Thanks!
