Can we upgrade from DNN 7.4.1 version to DNN 8.0.0 directly without upgrading to DNN 7.4.2?

We are using default DNN menu. Will it be an issue after upgrading?

Thank You!

Y Ma,
yes, you may upgrade directly, there should be no issue if you are using DNN default menu (DDR Menu).
Don't forget always to start with a full backup and to unblock upgrade package (in File Properties) prior to unzipping the content.

I always feel that the right answer is "Copy the live site to your test environment and try it." If you don't have a test environment then you should create that before you do anything else.

Once you upgrade you have to restore the database to go back. Risking that in the live environment is a very bad idea.

How about upgrading directly from 7.1.2 to the latest version?

Hello!

I made a complete copy of our website and am currently attempting to upgrade it.  It is at 35 minutes and still counting, but has said "25% ERROR occurred - {0}.  And it is still pointing to "Updating Database."  Do I just let it keep running?  Or is it hung up and I need to stop it?  If so, how do I stop it?  Will that mess up something else?  The one thing I didn't do was create the APP_OFFLINE.HTM.  Is this the problem?  My error says "'E:\Websites\...\SQLDataProvider\07.04.00.SqlDataProvider' denied"

Thanks for any help!

Danielle
