Glad you got that worked out. I can see the call to DNNMasters.UserDirectoryManager code in the stack trace and had suspected that it was a 3rd party extension causing the problem. Most likely DNN Masters has an updated version of that extension which will run under 05.05.01 if you still need it.

I'm having the same issue after upgrading from version 04.09.05 to 05.01.02 you can't register once you upgrade to the newer version. Here is the event viewer results.
