I posted a problem with an upgrade earlier today - but perhaps this is not related.  Wondering if my upgrade site should be in it's own app pool.

Also wondering what happens to the V5 => V6 DNN upgrade - does the .NET dependency change at all?  My server has .NET everything installed, and working (tested)  My understanding of .NET 3.5 is that it is just an extension of 2 - hence in the properties of a website, if I select the .NET framework, I only see 1, 2, and 4 as selections.
(Asking because I see 3.5 mentioned in several threads).

Cheers,  Duncan.

this is correct, however your server needs to have .net framework 3.5 SP1 (aka 3.5.1) installed.

Yep it's listed installed programs - 3.5 SP1.  I have a couple of .NET V4 apps working just fine too.  Not sure how to test 3.5 (my DNN V562 works fine, but IIRC that uses .NET 2).

Cheers,  Duncan.
(I'd upload an image, but the Image Manager isn't working for me).

I've built a very quick web app in Visual Studio at .NET 3.5 - runs locally, and now published to the server, and runs fine. OK, I guess that rules any .NET probs out.

Cheers, Duncan.

My test leads to one more question...

If I use a temp IIS site to peform a DNN upgrade (going from V562 to latest) - and give it it's own app pool - given my DNN install has several websites in it (portals), *must* I create a new app pool for every site (portal) in IIS running on that DNN?  (I know I probably should - but *must* you?)

Cheers, Duncan.
