Today I upgraded to 06.02.01 (253) from the last latest greatest...

I noticed on one of my pages the links in the 'html' module to other pages within the site were broken.  I verified that on other pages the links still worked fine.

I had "BOLT (Blitz Online Training)" for the page name and page title for the page that broke.  So I thought "()" probably became illegal with the upgrade so I changed the name.  That didn't seem to help; after the name change I still saw the "()" in the page name which seemed weird (even after restarting the application)

Anyway I continued to troubleshoot by making a new page. I tried to make a link to one the pages that failed and came up with the same error.  I then went to a page that had working links and made a new link to my 'Home' page and it failed to work as well.

If I put in the link to my 'Home' page by choosing the 'Home' page I see a good url in the url field, see below.

I save the 'HTML' module and page and test it out and I see in the address bar the following

So yes it fails to find the page because the url has been shortened improperly.

I edit the HTML module content going to properties for the link and I see the bad url '//Home.aspx'

Any ideas?

Regards,

Chris

Hi

Did you ever resolve this issue?

I upgrade from 6.0.1 to 6.0.2 and have exactly the same problem. Like yours mine are missing the domain name and portal part of the address, it seems to have been stripped out from every manually created link. We didn't realise until a while later and so couldn't revert to our backup. I have been working on trying to find a solution for days and it is driving me mad. I installed CKHtmlEditorProvider  and I can now create new links, which appear correctly but the existing links are still screwed and I don't want to manually fix all of them because there are a lot.

Anyone else had the same problem and fixed it? OR any ideas how to fix it?

Thanks
John

which editor provider are you using (see Host > HTML Editor). you should use either DNN Rad Editor provider or latest CKEditor provider (dnnckeditor.codeplex.com).

Hi Sebastian

Thanks for the speedy reply. Since then I have tried the CKEditor but that gave me a different problem, which I spent some time trying to resolve and then got really frustrated because I was not dealing with the actual upgrade issue. The RadEditor was already the default and that was not working so.we made the decision to revert our site back to version 06.01.05 and thankfully the links are now working correctly again. Any web site amendments and additions since the upgrade (nearly 4 weeks ago) will be manually reapplied. I have loaded a copy of our 06.01.05 site in to another web site instance and will test the upgrade procedure again using that.
The lesson we learned from this process was to be more thorough with our upgrade test procedure in future and not let 4 weeks pass before identifying an obvious problem!

Thanks for your help

PS. I may be in touch again after our next attempt at upgrading to 6.2!
