Well, I thought I was home free, as there were no errors during the upgrade after I deleted those 4 items.  However, when accessing the website I have the same error as I originally posted on this thread, so what is the next step!

Also, I notice your eprayer extension in your sig line so I downloaded it to use on several of my websites.  I am a Royal Ranger, you can go to this URL and see my photo :-) http://www.royalrangersalumni.org

Bill, I really appreciate your assistance with this, we are one step closer!!

Thanks!

Ronnie

Disregard the last post... I was running against the wrong database.  In the process of reconfiguring and retesting.

Ok, restored the correct database, took out the 4 duplicates in the database, restored the backup of the filesystem.  5.6.8 still runs fine.  Copied the 6.2.8 upgrade files over the working 5.6.8 filesystem and ran the upgrade.  There were NO errors during the upgrade.  However, I still get an error on opening the website, same one I started with.

Server Error in '/' Application.

One step closer . . . is one step closer!

Since you confirmed that the v 6.2.8 DotNetNuke.dll is getting copied into the site's /bin folder when upgrading, the FileManager issue must be due to namespace ambiguity with a conflicting third party module. I did a Google search for the error and did come up with several posts regarding a conflict with of YAF - Yet Another Forum v 1.9.5.5 and earlier when upgrading to DNN 6.x. Unfortunately the posts did include any confirmation that this was an issue or if it was resolved in a latter YAF version.

Do you have any third party modules, especially YAF, installed?

BTW, regarding my ePrayer module . . . I've finally gotten back to work on a major upgrade for DNN 7.1.2 and later that includes such features as a templatable view, integration with Social Groups, and support for DNN 6 and 7 form patterns. I hope to release it late this month/early next month via CodePlex.

I do have some older 3rd party modules installed, but not YAF.  I have removed most of the modules because they were old and I don't use them but I will do some more investigating this evening.  When looking through the DB and directory I did notice some modules that I had deleted that still appear in either the DB or directory or both.  Not sure what the proper way to delete those items other than just delete.
