I think I've isolated my particular issue. I'm using the OnyakTech Forms third-party module, which does some interesting stuff like destroying the _VIEWSTATE field from the client side to make forms post backs work, posts back to the form it's located on with no change in query string (hence no VaryByParms effect), etc. So the module posts back to the page it's located on, and regardless of what it posts, its redirect response resulting from the postback is cached. This is weird because the regular .Net caching provider will never return a cached result in response to a postback. What's also weird is that this happens even when I have set the Host level caching to None and Authenticated Caching to NoCache. It works fine when I am logged on. I'm suspecting a glitch in a custom caching provider - I noticed from Web.config that DNN rolled its own, it seems.

Sebastian, I have noticed that there are some cases in 7.03 where I'm seeing IIS emitting error 500 instead of DNN handling the exception.  He may actually need to go into the Windows Application event log if that's happening.

Justin, you are correct, error 500 should be logged in Windows Application event log, sorry.

Cheers from Germany,
