Caveat... I have no idea if this is a good idea, or even possible.

Might it be easier to change the owner in the database first and then try the upgrade?

The script cannot execute these lines, and I have no idea why. Having a different database owner and object qualifier shouldn't break the upgrade.

The errors I'm getting are one page back, you can see them if you view the first page of this thread. Didn't want to paste them again. At the end of the stack trace, you will see an sql command. that command generates the commands I pasted the second time which gives those error messages on the first page (wow that was a weird sentence :) )

it is strange and sounds like an issue with different schema or missing permission (the user account specified in web.config needs to be assigned to dbowner role for your database)
