I tried to upgrade from 7.2.2 to 8.0.4 and it failed. I had login issues, skin issues, etc...

My IT guy loaded the backup and now I can't edit pages. The website appears okay from the outside, but when I click on edit page, I get a tree structure and not see the normal edit mode with modules showing. Should I try to update to 7.3.2 to fix the issue, or does it need to be fixed before I try the update?

first try to get the restore running properly. The error looks like missing CSS, either to file missing or permission not being granted.

Can you suggest how I fix the issue. I'm a newbie and need specific step by step guidance, if possible.

I'm able to login as HOST and I have access to the web server, but my IT guy did the backup, reinstalled the backup twice and re-booted the server. I think I can see the backup files, is there specific files I should copy/paste back into the reinstalled backup? Or perhaps grab specific files from a past backup?

Thank you for your help!

I asked my IT guy to go back to an earlier backup, he did, and now the webpage is back to normal. I have critical updates, so should go from 7.2.2 to 7.4.2? Then where from there? I can't go to 8x, because my bindtuning skin doesn't support 8x yet.

if you can't upgrade to DNN 8, you should upgrade to DNN 7.4.2 and afterwards install latest version of DNN Security Analyzer from https://github.com/dnncommunity/secur...
