Do you get any error message? Does anything show up on the Admin Logs? If not, try using Fiddler (https://www.telerik.com/fiddler) to get more information on the error so we can help you here.

It would be great to see the see what the server is sending back to the save request. 

That can be seem if you sniff the request with a tool like fiddler or Chrome dev tools.
