When creating the project using the IDE, yes.  I initially added the project to an existing solution, but after receiving the error detailed above, I tried opening it stand-alone.  VS2010 tries to convert the project and returns the single error detailed abiove. It does not add the project in either case once it receives the error.

browsing to http://dnndev/desktopmodules/Admissions/ shows a listing of folders/files, including the Admissions.csproj, the Admissions.dnn, etc.

The matching directory is: C:\websites\DNN6.2.1\DesktopModules\Admissions, where http://dnndev is mapped to C:\websites\DNN6.2.1.

Thanks.

Hi,

I am having this error message several times, esp. when I change the .Net Framework of the project. What always did help was deleting the web.config file in the project's directory (not the one in the web root).

Best wishes
Michael

My desktop module does not have a web.config file.

It has a csproj, a dnn, a few user controls (Edit, Settings, View.ascx), a css, and a few C# class (AdmissionsModuleBase and AdmissionsSettingsBase).  The C# template from Chris does not include one and I have not manually added one.

Thanks

Can you successfully build the project?

No.  trying to add the project in VS2010 fails with the error at the start of this thread.  The project files all create, but the project cannot be added to a solution (or converted to VS2010 for opening the existing .csproj).

When I try to add (or open and convert), I get the error about the site not existing.
