The editor FUBAR'd my previous post, so I'll reiterate anew:

Unfortunately, I do not have the source project downloaded and have not looked through the FAQ ISearchable implementation, so I will not be able to offer any direct advice in solving the problem you are having.

However, since no one has really responded to date, I can give you some general direction in trying to get more information about the issue.  If *I* were experiencing this problem, the first thing I would do would be to download the source package, find the ISearchable implementation, and log a HOST_

Hi,

I am using the Install package (not Source) if it makes a difference?

"find the ISearchable implementation, and log a HOST_ "  ....?
- in my Host >> Module Definition >> FAQ >> my searchable box is checked (if this is what you mean)

Sorry, I did not realize that the editor was screwing up my text the second time.  I'll have to reiterate from memory.

If I were debugging the problem you're experiencing, I would first want to determine if the ISearchable implementation is actually being executed.  I know that the module implements the interface (I checked the Module Definitions too), but just because it is implement does not mean that it's being called.

To verify that it's being executed, I'd download the source package and add some logging code at the beginning of the GetSearchItems method (which is the only method in the interface).  Add a HOST_

Wow.  Apparently I'm not allowed to use the word "a_l_e_r_t" in a post.  I understand stripping potential javascript calls, but that's a whole lot of nonsense.  Let's try a fourth time.

Add a HOST_A:L:E:R:T (without the :'s, obviously) log event to the method.  Use the AddLog method of the EventLogController object, located in the DotNetNuke.Services.Log namespace.  Compile and deploy the modified assembly.  Wait and see if the event is actually being logged on your site, indicating that the FAQ module is being queried for search terms.

I just looked over the ISearchable implementation and nothing jumped out at me.  My guess is that it's not being executed for some reason.  Let me know if you can confirm otherwise.

Brandon

Thanks for you response.

I didn't manage to try the above - as it has now started to list my faq content (after several days).

Now I am faced with another problem, but I will make a new and more relevant post.

thanks again.

mark.
