Roger:

Thanks for your concern, but as I note, I actually solved this problem.  Put into other words, my contribution is solving a poor design problem which should have never happened in the first place.  In addition, the DNN upgrade path does not systematically have ways to catch these types of errors, and that sad truth is simply a fact.  I have no issues with causing people to seriously consider whether their time to volunteer has stopped, or given my stated challenge, up their level of commitment.  I gave the example of Windows Vista, and Microsoft responded with what I believe are two solid operating systems:  win 7 and win 8 (without commenting here on the issues which people have with those two OS'es).

Meanwhile, I continue to debug DNN problems which stand in the way of reasonable effort.  In my recent blog post http://marktab.net/datamining/2013/03... I show how I improved my DNN Google PageSpeed to be above even dotnetnuke.com.

DNN may be open source, but effectively working with it requires beyond just a novice ability.  Perhaps that "flaw" is by design, and provides a path for consultants.  Then again, I wonder why I can beat dotnetnuke.com on Google PageSpeed.  I could have even made the score higher.

Apparently, there is no way for me to edit my previous post: I wanted to correct the link to the DNN PageSpeed improvements which are found at http://marktab.net/datamining/2013/03...
