Allright, I used your OPML file without any problem.  It appears to be fine, format-wise.  Now, something that occasionaly happens is that there is a Cache file that gets read, and maybe that's confusing things, or it could be that you are not placing the file in the proper location, or specifying it correctly in the settings.

Here's what to try:

1. Go to your website folder, and look for a \Portals\Cache\OPML folder.  If that's there go ahead and delete the OPML folder, if you feel more comfortable just move it somewhere for safe-keeping.  I just restore it from my Recycle Bin, if things go south, anyway.

2. Place your OPML file in the Website folder

3. Specify the location as http://<myisp>/<mysite>/<myfile.opml> and update.

For example, my test site is on  localhost, and my portal is named dnnv040505, so I specified the location as:

http://localhost/dnnv040505/BellNews.opml

Then, I click update and it displayed without issue.

Try those steps and let me know how it goes.

Cheers,

Thanks iwonder. I have it working on another instance of DNN on another machine now. For some reason it's not working on the production. I'll investigate and see if I can find out what the difference is.

The only thing I can see is the production instance is running the latest free version of snapsis pageblaster, and the dev isn't. I'll try to disable the pageblaster and see what happens.

Edit - I removed pageblaster and removed the OPML folder on both. The files that got recreated in the dev env were only one. (localhost_11a9580e_eeb1b752.opml.resources) when I open the file it's a copy of the OMPL file.

The prod env recreated two OPML files, (marketplace_dotnetnuke_com_a549bce7_ebeb028f.opml.resources, & www_dotnetnuke_com_ab8998ad_3da7a7ee.opml.resources), but no corresponding OMPL file that was created in the dev.

Could it be a permissions issue?

This is an amazing module. I have it running and looking beautiful on our University's site - via a test page.

But the last remaining issue is that the module orders the feed in reverse with the newest on bottom and the oldest on top. I don't see a way to change it. It's not an ampersand issue. I am simply passing a twitter feed url like this:

http://api.twitter.com/1/statuses/use... />

(Side note - it would be great to be able to control the number of items returned.)

Oh well. I may have to use the news module instead and find another way to reproduce the tabs and navigation system.

Alright, just a follow-up. I have been researching other ways to do the same thing that this module does and frankly I am gaining a different perspective.

This is a cool module especially when it came out. But after looking at other modules available particularly from mandeeps.com (e.g. Live Tabs and Live Content), I am confident that I can produce an even better interface that is far more flexible.

Now those who want this module simply as a cool personal aggregator. Live Tabs could do that too, but for a free solution Feed Explorer is cool.
