Ok, repository module addded and skin set to directory.  I'm having a problem with the last step - "set the upload type to Link (URL) only."  Where do I find this option?  I don't see it anywhere in on the repository settings page.  DNN 4.0.2 and Repository module 3.1.8.26258.

That should be done automatically now. The original post was concerning 3.1.6 and Steve moved towards making the URL/File links template specific in 3.1.8.

Is there any established way to have the links pop-up a new viewer? Just start looking at the repository, nice work guys. I can see it being a toss-up in selecting XMOD or this tool! cheers, drew..

Absolutely!

To have links open in a new window add the following Setting to the DOWNLOAD tag in the template.xml file for the skin you're using

 <Object>
  <Token>[DOWNLOAD]</Token>
  <Settings>
   <Setting>
    <Name>Target</Name>
    <Value>NEW</Value>
   </Setting>
  </Settings>
 </Object>

For a good example of this have a look at the DotNetNuke Directory (uses a custom template - very powerful)
