you can make the TITLE tag work exactly the same as the DOWNLOAD tag, just edit your template.xml file.... pay close attention to the 'case', as the XML file and the tokens, settings and values are case-sensitive.

 <Object>
  <Token>[TITLE]</Token>
  <Settings>
   <Setting>
    <Name>DOWNLOAD</Name>
    <Value>true</Value>
   </Setting>
  </Settings>
 </Object>

Unfortunately this does not appear to work.

I had the following code in my C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\DotNetNuke\DesktopModules\Repository\Templates\filelist\template.xml file

  <Object>
  <Token>[TITLE]</Token>
  <Settings>
   <Setting>
    <Name>DOWNLOAD</Name>
    <Value>true</Value>
   </Setting>
  </Settings>
 </Object>

Please advise

Regards

Julian

You could also do this in your template.html file

I did something similar. I wanted the title to be a link directly to the entry in the repository so that users would have a hyperlink to paste in other websites or forums. Here is an example of the line that does that in my template.html file:

<td width="58%" class="normalbold" align="Left" valign="bottom" style="padding-left: 3px;">[EDIT]<a target="_blank" href="http://www.FSAlliance.net/FileLibrary/Downloads/tabid/61/Default.aspx?grm2id=[ITEMID]" title="Open a Direct Link to this File">[TITLE]</a></td>

You could change it to download the file when the title is clicked like this.

<td width="58%" class="normalbold" align="Left" valign="bottom" style="padding-left: 3px;">[EDIT]<a href="[DOWNLOAD]" title="Click to Download this File">[TITLE]</a></td>

Hope that helps you.

Yes, but this way, you loose the functionnality of number of people who download your item. Why not using Permalink for your purpose ??? I am using it on my website (LINKS Page), it works perfectly.

No, the [DOWNLOAD] token still works as normal, i have just used it another way. It will still trigger the postback, download the file, etc...

It's just basic html

I am still running the previous version, which does not have permalinks, as i have customised the module to suit my needs. When the next version is out, i will look at migrating then.

There are many ways of accomplishing what you want with the repository, this was the method i chose as i wasn't aware of some of the options available, like steve's example above.
