The module is working great. Thanks for all your work.

I noticed while poking through the databases that the filenames that are being uploaded have characters appended to the end of them.

For example I just uploaded a document titled FN032206.pdf and when I look in the DB the filename has been changed to FN032206.a55f564e-78f2-4c87-b36b-aa828834bde8.pdf? Is this supposed to happen, if so why?

Yes that is supposed to happen. It happens for a number of reasons.
1. It Prevents anyone from direct linking to the file from elsewhere or being able do download it if they don't have permissions to

2. Protects the original file if a file with the same name is uploaded into another repository entry (User A uploads FN032206.pdf and then later UserB also uploads a file named FN032206.pdf. Both files are able to co-habitate on the server).

That's just a couple of examples why the GUID is inserted. When a user downloads the files the GUID is stripped out of the file name.

Great, thanks for the quick reply. I thought that was the reason, and glad to hear that. I have been having some problems with friendly urls and the portal, and wasn't sure if that was a side effect or not.

Thanks again!

OK, now I am running into a problem. I want to bulk import from another location. I have imported everything in the tables neccessary, but when I click the download button on the document, it comes up with a .doc[1] extension and windows doesn't know how to handle the file. There was no GUID attached to the file names.

How do you go about bulk importing documents?
