Hi All,

I'm having some issues with user defined tables & site searches...

1st...  The searches are not consistent.  Some items come up in the search and other do not.  I have one "URL" and two "text" columns.  The URL column fields point to files that reside on the server and the file names contain spaces and some "-" characters.  The text fields contain (you guessed it) text (nothing special but there are a couple of "-" chars and a single quote or two)...  I haven't really come up with a pattern of why some come up and why some do not!?!?

2nd...  It looks like I am not able to search for anything in the URL column...

3rd...  I have one table that displays on many different pages and I'm using the "filter statement" feature to limit what gets displayed on each page (i.e.  I display "HR" docs only on the "HR" page and "Tech" docs only on the "Tech" page).  When I search for a "tech" document, the URL that the search results returns is from the "HR" page.  So, if I click on the URL to see my "Tech" search item, I don't find it because it brings me to the "HR" page (which is only displaying "HR" docs because of the filter statement)...  The site search should return a URL from the "Tech" page...  Hopefully that is clear...

FYI...  I have all the columns in the UDT set as "searchable".  I'm using the latest release of UDT (just updated today)...

Thanks for any help...

Billboe

2nd is adressed in DNN3.5.1., iam not sure for 1st.

3rd is related to how search works in DNN. The default DNN Search provider indexes the content by module (ModuleID), and not by its instances in several tabs. So all tab settings are ignored. There is nothing we can do or change inside UDT.

please note, that search support has been overhauled in UDT 3.5.1, please check 1 and 2 when the new version will be available.

I've been having similar issues.  I believe it's because the search in UDT is case sensative.  I just upgrades to the newest UDT and looks like I'm have the same problem.

I have records where one of the searchable fields is name.  I have records for "Adam" and several others.  If I search for "adam" no records are returned.  If I search for Adam, 1 record is returned.  If I use the DNN search and type either "Adam" or "adam" my UDT record is returned as expected.

Is there any way to fix this using XSLT?

Search is case sensitive if using UDT 3 with XSL rendering, this shall be corrected in next major version.
