I use UDT extensively through out my client portals.  However about 6 months ago I started having problems and I thought they may go away when I went to DNN 4.9 but they have not.  Basically:

1. None of my UDT tables sort unless I'm in Admin/Edit mode

2. I cannot do search.

3. I cannot delete one of the columns on one of my UDT

4. On View non admin mode, the little pencils show up next to each record as if you could edit them, however when you click on them you cannot edit.

5. My date fields do not sort they way I tell it, they do it arbitrarily.

I have the latest version, but I'm think maybe I need to reupload?  Please help.

Are you using UDT 3.5.1? I haven't experienced this , make sure the .dll in /bin folder has same version.

Did you enable caching for the module? That would explain 1,2 and 4.

Regarding 3: I bet you have more than a handfull of records inside that UDT? Deleting the column runs into a timeout, this is fixed for form and List, the upcoming successor of UDT.

5. Date or Date and Time?

Yes, I'm using UDT 3.5.1 but I could not find a way to see what the DLL version was.  There are two DLls for the UDT table under the bin directory.

Thank you.  I guess you mean caching should be 0 or none?  I had it set at 3600, proably was the default.  When I switched to none, it surely fix the sorting, the pencil for non admins and also the search.  Thanks!

Regarding 3, I do have about 300 records on one table.  Would I have to delete the column from the SQL database?

As far as 5, all my dates are only dates (without times).

thanks for your help.
