Hi,

I am using UDT with DNN 4.9 and probably have about 1500 records. I’m using the default grid table along with the search box function of the UDT with ‘show no record until search’. My problem is the load times of the page and the search result. While other pages on my site load instantly, when you click on the page with the UDT, it loads extremely slow as if it’s trying to load all those records (waits approx 5-7 secs), and when you actually search for a specific record on the page, its another 5-7 secs. The process of the udt search might be different so my question I guess is how do speed up the load times of UDT and its search result. Is there some sort of indexing of those records just on udt? Not really sure of the process of how UDT does it but any help or suggestion is much appreciated. Thanks.

UDT always loads all records before applying filter, but 1500 records shouldn't be a big problem - depending on the number of columns, as all data is stored serialized,

Ok got it. But is there a way for UDT to bypass loading of all those records until someone actually searches a record, that way the page only loads the udt search box and not all records? I really don't mind if the actual searching time of those records is about 5 secs or so.. i know 1500 doesn't really seem a lot but in my case, it looks like its trying to load a lot more than that.

Neither UDT nor Form and List allow to bypass loading.

Can you provide some more details about your records? 1500 rows are not  very much for example for text fields, however 1500 urls/ files or images would explain a lot. Speed depends a lot on the used types.

One record would be like the ones below. It's pretty much info records. title on the 1st column and description on the 2nd...I can see why it would be a lot, but any better way to output 1500 of these? they are all pretty much text..
