I was able to figure out how to checek the contenttype and file size, but when I cant post the error message if the content type doesnt match or the file size is exceeded. How do I do that?

You must override IsValidType(). If this function returns false, it returns DataTypeName.ErrorMessage, which is retrieved from the localresouce file of the datatype. For an example of overriding, see http://dnnfnl.codeplex.com/SourceCont...
The localresourcefile is by default DesktopModules\UserDefinedTable\app_localresources\sharedresources.resx. You can change that file by overriding the property for the datatype.
