Stefan,

I removed the Show All User Defined Columns permission from the Readers and the problem was solved.

I guess this permission overrides the others and thus the column showing the link to edit the row is shown, even if the Edit Row permission is not checked.

Thanks!
Benicio

I checked the show all columns permission and still the user cannot edit the rows. I am not sure what happened, but it is working fine now.

Thanks again,
Benicio

First off, I am very new to DotNetNuke administration, but I am having a similar problem, in that I cannot get the role that I have created the correct permissions to add rows.  I have followed the advice in this thread and the help within UDT, but I still have issue were the user with user being able to add rows.  I have the permissions set up so that this particular role, can view the module, edit rows, and add rows.  The check box for inherit permissions from the page is checked off, yet it is not possible to add rows.  Thanks in advance for your help.

Greg,
The problem I had was that after so many tries I had misconfigured my role assignments, so the module was doing what it was supposed to do.

Double check your role configuration and the roles assigned to the user in question.

Good luck!

Hi there,

I use DNN 4.3.5 with the last UDT version 3.3.6 and i confirm : it doesn't work.

I create one "editor" role and i've selected in first the same configuration like "admin" : View Module, Edit Module, Edit Row, Create New Row, Delete Row, Show All User Defined Columns...and result with my editor's user name in module UDT, "manage UDT" that's all

In second time, i've selected only :View Module, Edit Module, Edit Row, Create New Row, Delete Row

And not better

In conclusion, it must be in admin session to update the table and in user session to view this one

Thanks for your help

Cheers

Thierry
