OK, I did get this installed on a 4.4.1 site on the same server as the 4.3.7 install is running. All of the directories were created on the 4.3.7 install and the dll's were removed from the bin folder. The codeSubDirectories entries were also made.

The install seems to have gone as expected but it does kill the site with the above error. As indicated the same module installed fine on this server into 4.4.1.

As a side note I tried to upgrade the failed 4.3.7 install to 4.4.1 but the xml module stills gives the same error when trying to hit the site.

I don't know what really happens, it seems that Net.Permissions are not recognized as System.Net.Permissions

Please edit app_code\xml\components\utils.vb and change the line 96 to

Return System.Security.SecurityManager.IsGranted(New System.Net.WebPermission(System.Net.NetworkAccess.Connect, url))

or

Return System.Security.SecurityManager.IsGranted(New WebPermission(NetworkAccess.Connect, url))

Both should work, more after I return from my vacation. It would be nice If you could post your import namespace sttings inside your web.config. I would like to compare it to my settings.

The link above is in relation to installing Ultra Media Gallery and the same problem I had, but opted to use the fix listed Stefan

Just had the same problem and thankfully Stefan's fix works. But wouldn't it have been a good idea either to have pulled the module from the DNN site or at least give a warning when this was identified several days ago?

Dear jstranger and all others fighting with this issue,

The module is running fine on all sites I have access too, even without the fix.

I still don't know what happens within your setup. I think the issue occurs only to a very small minority of dnn users, but I don't get any more feedback. As long as I am not able to reproduce or inspect the issue, I am not going to give a warning in kind of a blog.

Please, I need your help. Contact me at stefan.cullmann@dotnetnuke.
