Hi, when I choose new thread, my settings, or search, the site admin skin is used, not my portal skin.  I'm using DNN red and grey skins for my test, and I have tested with admin and registered users.  Any idea why this is happening?

Thanks,
Mike

That is how it works.  It is really how the core handles it and not the module, so this will not change unless the core does.

Is it really the core that works this way? When I use the search-possibility of DNN 3.2 I get the same 'problem' when the search-results are displayed.Only this module creates it's own page for the search-results ánd this page is customizable (skinnable). There really should be a solution for this in forum, customers will not like this.

I would agree, I notice too that (search, My Settings & New Thread) all bring up an alternitive Skin.. In another thread I asked how these could be manipulated so that their layout could be adjusted.

What determines the skin choice is the module action.  If the module action is of type Edit, Host, Admin the module is going to display using the normal selected skin (or default).  If it is one of those other actions it is going to load the admin skin.  Therefore this problem is not the forums rendering the skin differently, it is the way that the core ties module actions to the admin skin.  The only alternative for the module would be to handle all the module actions as view which would be defeating the extra layer of security.
