Hi,

I have added Forums module and started using it for the first time

everytime i click on the Myposts button i get this exception

ORDER BY items must appear in the select list if SELECT DISTINCT is specified. 0

Also got this exception while Performing Search .What is the reason for this exception and

how can i fix it ?.

hmm i just tested it out on my site http://dnn.profitimo.com and I got the same error too.

 

A critical error has occurred.
ORDER BY items must appear in the select list if SELECT DISTINCT is specified. 0

I get the same error while trying to submit a seach in the forum

There is a modification that is needed to the stored procedure that executes the queries for the search function.

I can try to get a blog post up about it tonight.  (If somemone can send me a reiminder)

There is a solution here on the site somewhere, but I can't find the post....

The stored procedure Mitchel is talking about is Forum_SearchGetResults.

To fix the problem I made a change in the last line of the dynamic SQL to populate the temporary table by replacing

ORDER BY P.CreatedDate DESC

with

ORDER BY CreatedDate DESC

This seems to have done the trick. I hope it is the same change, Mitchel was having in mind.
