First for running Forum 4.4.3 you must have as Min. DNN 4.4.0 or higher.  If the Forum has any probles inside it can caused errors on upgrading.  I always suggest to make a complete backup of the database and the DNN files before running a upgrade.

The gallery if you have it is still in beta and have some issues.  We come nearly to a first release with the new gallery team, but it needs still some work on issues.  So the New Forum do not longer need the gallery module, I like siggest to upgrade the Forum.  Please read the pinned threads in this forum before upgrade.
